2022

Our 2022 Hallowheel Carnival was held Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, at Highland Park and featured a fun morning of learning tennis, playing games, and winning prizes. Thanks to Danielle Morris for coordinating the event, to everyone who participated, and to all our amazing volunteers who made the event such a success.

Hallowheel Carnival 2022

Because of COVID, the Carnival was not held in 2020 and 2021.

2019

We had another fabulous Hallowheel Adapted / Wheelchair Tennis Carnival on Saturday, Oct. 19, to introduce wheelchair tennis to beginners, particularly children. The event was free and included two hours of tennis instruction, games, and prizes. Thanks to Danielle Morris for coordinating the event and to the BRWTA Board and dozens of volunteers who helped make it such a great success.

We are proud to have the Baton Rouge Recreation and Parks Commission (BREC) as our official Hallowheel partner!

BRWTA Wheelchair Tennis Clinics Held in Lafayette and Baton Rouge
In July and September of 2015, we had the pleasure of hosting wheelchair tennis clinics in Lafayette at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and in Baton Rouge at the Baton Rouge Rehab Hospital. The clinics introduced individuals to the sport of wheelchair tennis.  They were able to learn how to rally, volley and serve, thanks to instruction by teaching professionals Bill Phillips and Kathrin Sieberth. As with traditional tennis instruction, Bill and Kathrin used smaller nets and foam balls to teach the fundamentals.
